Positive Discipline in the School & Classroom - Certification Training

Announcing a 2-day professional development workshop for Teachers, Guidance Counselors and School Leadership.  The research has shown for decades that children with better social-emotional skills do better in life.  They stay in school, graduate, and go on to become productive citizens leading fulfilling lives more than the student who has poor social skills and is not in control of his or her emotions.  Indeed, a child's poor social-emotional skills draw other students off-task, and can prevent entire lessions from getting through.  Positive Discipline can address students' social-emotional needs and skill development.

Discover how to help students become part of the solution when dealing with challenges
- in academic lessons and social skills development.  Using the Positive Discipline in the School & Classroom Curriculum, participants will practice lessons to increase the following skills in students

Establishing class guidelinesSelf regulationEffective communication and problem solvingEmpathyTeam building
Focus on solutions vs. punishment.  Deliver guidance that is KIND and FIRM at the same time.  Reduce time spent dealing with misbehaviors and distractions by involving children in the long-term solutions.

Suzanne Smitha-McPherson, key author of the PD Classroom curriculum will be leading the 2-Day Certification!  The tuition has been discounted by $100.

CEUs have been applied for and we should know by July 25 if they will be available - but either way - this workshop will be invaluable...and can make your 2018-2019 school more successful!
