The Domestic Violence Intervention Program is an 19-week educational program that provides group sessions for men who have used physical and verbal abuse and threatening behavior against their partner and/or children. An individual assessment/orientation is required prior to starting the group. Assessment/orientation is held the first Tuesday of the month at the Virginia Beach location and the first Thursday of the month at the Newport News location.
Assessment fee is $35. Classes are every Tuesday or Thursday depending on location for 19 weeks from 6 PM to 8PM
Each group session is $20. This program is certified by the Virginia Batterer Intervention Program Certification Board and upon successful completion of the program can satisfy court orders. For more information or to register, contact the Intake Coordinator by calling 757-533-5217.
