Zero Seconds Alone In or Near Cars

"Zero Seconds" means zero incidents.

Please answer these 3 simple questions:

1. Would you leave $1Million in your car?
2. Would you let your child play with a loaded gun?
3. Would you leave your child alone in or near a vehicle?

Each year more than 100 children lose their lives because they are left alone in or around cars. In 2009, 144 children died; while a total of 781 children were involved in some type of related incident. Right here in Hampton Roads, we can all remember the tragic stories of recent years.

Help us encourage parents and caregivers to make the "Zero Seconds" pledge - to leave no child unattended in or around a vehicle - for Zero Seconds!  Harrison's Hope advocates that "Zero Seconds" will mean "zero incidents."

Here's a few ways you can help insure our children are safe:

  • Read and share these Safety Tips for parents and caregivers.
  • Educate others and encourage them to sign the "Zero Seconds" pledge (part of the Education Kit)
  • Consider becoming a Sponsor - levels begin as low as $100. Your Service Organization will be recognized with a banner patch.

If we can answer any questions, please do not hesitate to call. If we don't know the answer, we'll help find the answer.

Remember - ZERO SECONDS means ZERO INCIDENTS. Make the pledge - and help educate others!
